Showing Your House
Work with your REALTOR® to make a Showing Plan including special instructions about pets, alarms, locks and how you would like to be notified of confirmed showings. No showings ever take place without your permission!
TIPS FOR A SUCCESSFUL SHOWING
Most buyers work with their own REALTOR®, who schedules the showing and provides access via the lockbox. Unless there are special circumstances, the listing agent is not typically present during showings.
Vacate the property 10 minutes before the showing is scheduled to begin. Showings typically last 15 - 30 minutes.
Use a For Sale sign to help buyers and REALTORS® locate your property.
Remove or securely store items such as valuables, cash, jewelry, prescription pill bottles, etc.
After showings, check to make sure all gates, doors and windows are properly closed and locked.
Don’t get locked out! Make sure you have a backup means of access in case of lockout and provide instructions for any doors that should NOT be locked.
Buyers develop a first impression the moment they step into your home. Use the checklist below to optimize the showing experience.
